Poster Analysis

The characters facial expressions makes the audience feel the seriousness of the film but then when they see the unfitting coloured flags, they might think twice and realise that this films is unlike their predictions.
This poster is very bright and shiny around the sun, the character’s faces and the ground and this might be showing the audience a sense of heroic theme, meaning that the main leads will save the day and be considered heroes.
The title is in big bold writing and in the centre of the poster so that the audience will be informed of the film’s title. The title can also make the audience guess the genre of the film and what it might be about.
When mentioning that it’s ‘a new comedy from the makers of Shaun of The Dead’ they wanted to attract people who enjoyed ‘Shaun of The Dead’.
The main characters in the film is in the poster to attract their fans and to also make people think in their head about what the movie is about. The characters are wearing police uniform and they have a serious face which suggests that the film involves crime or something similar. The fact that the characters looks are the opposite of each other (as in body shape), this could mean that their personalities are totally different and it will take time for them to get along.
The background is full of different things. The floor has this bright light on top which could represent a dark theme, the circle-orange-thing that glows is probably the sun, indicating slight madness towards the film because it looks like it doesn’t fit with the town that is also in the background. The town looks like a normal town that people live considering the smoke coming out of the supposed church. The side trees makes me think about loneliness and a forest which makes me wonder that it could insinuate that the town is a bit isolated from other societies like the London society.
