Genre and Style:
The genres that were included in the film were combined in a intelligent way so that the results would be in their favor, in other words they have accomplished their main purpose of making people amused and in wonder with the film while probably experiencing many different emotions because of all the equal amounts of horror, spoof, crime, action and comedy that is included in the film.
The conventions of the many genre's found in the film (comedy, action, horror, crime, spoof) were to make the audience laugh and interested in the film while exploring the different changes of the film since the genre of the film would change many times in the film. An example of this could be when action was taking place when Angel was in his room and fighting with Michael but Angel hit him in the head with a plant pot and this resulted in Michael dropping in the floor unconscious however in the middle of the the fight, we see a funny scene when Angel throws to Michael a teddy bear and he responds to it as if he was a baby and also at the end of the fight, when Angel was pretending to be Michael while talking to Skinner through the walkie talkie he tried to speak like Michael so it was also a funny scene.
Form and Content:
The movie revolves around Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg), a police officer from London, who gets promoted and forcibly transferred to a calm and sleepy country village called Sandford due to his arrest record being better than any other police officer in London and therefore it made them look bad. On his first night in Sandford, even though he wasn't officially in his work hours, he still started to arrest under-age kids that were drinking in a local pub, under-age kids that were behaving inappropriately in the streets and he also arrested a police officer called Danny Butterman (Nick Frost) that was going to drive while being drunk in which Angel later discovers that they are partnered up together. They don't get along that well at the start but soon they become close buddies when they have a serious and emotional conversation about themselves and the reason for why they wanted to be police officers but while their bromance was blossoming, 'accidental' deaths mysteriously started to occur.
