
The company was co-founded by Tim Bevan and Sarah Radclyffe in 1984. Their first work was the first of a series of collaborations with channel Four Films which is named 'My Beautiful Laundrette' in 1985. After that, many films were getting produced which then in 1988, Polygram and Working Title made a production deal with each other. In 1992, Polygram became their corporate backer and in the same year, Sarah Radclyffe left Working Title and was then replaced by Eric Fellner so therefore Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are co-chairs of the company. Universal Studio Pictures are joint ventures with Working Title and it is not known how much it owns Working Title. Universal Studio Pictures gives Working Title liberty however depending on the budget that Working Title pretends to need will effect on the decision of whether to continue with what they want to do. WTTV is based in London and LA and is also a joint venture with NBC Universal International which are Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. WTTV's first comedy series called Yonderland will be broadcasted by Sky one in the autumn.
Working title is considered one of the production companies being in the UK’s top 40 film production companies list because of their success with many recognizable films. One of their biggest success was in 1994 with the film Four Weddings and a Funeral to which Polygram provided access to the US market and made the big box office a success. They had much more movies that were a success such as 'Love Actually', 'Bridget Jones’s Dairy', 'Les misérables' and so on. Working Title has started to work with Theatre now that the movie Billy Elliot has become a success, and since 2010 it's touring production has been running successfully in London's West End.
The Ownership of Working Title Films:
Tim Bevan was born in New-Zealand. He started his career as a production runner on soap opera but before that, he was serving his apprenticeships at the National Film Unit. He moved to Britain and started working at Video Arts in the early 1980s, which was John Cleese's successful corporate training production house. Aldabra was the name of his music video production company in 1983 which is now working title.

Eric Fellner was born in the UK. He also started in music videos, making promos, for bands like Duran Duran and Fleetwood mac. He then went on to british films by producing The Rachel Papers and Sid and Nancy, and more at Initial Pictures. it was in 1992 that he left to join Tim Bevan in Working Title Films.
